I've always questioned whether they are true.
The whole story changes when you open a forwarded mail and read about someone you know, someone you seen and someone you actually talked to before.
The mail itself:
To all our dearest family members, relatives, friends and strangerfriends who would like to help out.My brother, David Lee Seng Kieong, aged 48 was recently diagnosed with afatal liver illness, Hepatocellular Cancer. Doctor has indicated a veryshort survival life span. The only way out is through Liver Transplant.David is currently attached to Shell Petroleum in Miri. With 3 lovingkids (aged 9-15) and his wife, Crystal, David has been faithfully andloyally serving God through his work in the various churches in Miriand he is also one of the founder of the Senadin Church for youth inUniversity of Curtin campus. Devoted to God, his family and his workwhile harbouring hopes of seeing his 3 wonderful kids going throughcolleges, having health problems was the last thing on his mind.David and his loved ones are now put to test. Unless and until atransplant is performed, David's chances of survival is slim or I wouldsay ZERO! Nevertheless we believe God is working and He has a way. We now earnestly, sincerely seek all of your assistance to circulate thisemail especially to those who knew David, to come forward giving onlypart of your liver to save his life. If for certain reasons you are unable to do so, we would very much appreciate if you would forward this email.
Following are some information pertaining to Donor Assessment:-
- Age 21 to 54
- Donor must be physically fit and liver functioning well, have adequatesize and suitable anatomy;
- Have blood Group that is compatible (in this case, David is of ABgroup which means he can take in ANY Blood Group!)
- No significant or major health problems;
- HIV, Hepatitis B & C should be negative.Donor will be assessed by doctors, cardiologist (if necessary) beforetransplant. After transplant, donor will stay in hospital for 7 days and should be able to resume work after 1 month (unless donor areinvolved in heavy physical work). Donor's liver will REGAIN back to its normal size after few months.

Uncle David is one of the church leaders in my church whom I saw week after week back home and it was a schock to hear about this. In fact, the very picture of my blog title is a picture of his son.
Till now, one thing's for sure :
God is in control

"foward this" mails..some of them are true some of them are purely hoax that sounds like real.
there are websites you can check for the truth of the email, like:
www.hoax-slayer.com
just type in the keyword in the search section there.
for example, recently i received a "foward this" mail regarding the organ theft, like people make you unconscious and then bring you to somewhere to steal your kidneys, leaving you in a bathtub full of ice with a message for you
"call 000 or you will die"
i searched the work "kidney" in hoax-slayer.com and suprisingly there was info on this! from there it was known that the email on organ theft is FAKE.
try out yourselves, see on how true some mails are, especially warnings and so on..
some mails you'll know its true, some "foward this" mails are nice to foward..
its your own freedom to foward any mails. but fowarding a fake health myth or crime story is doing not much.
and using Jesus' name and the "deny me and i deny you before the father" as a reason to foward mails? i'll just say one word before deleting - bs

Ya..I dun like those mails too but yea, when a health story is on someone you know and you KNOW that the person indeed is facing watever is written is just different. Thx for da hoax thingy anyways :) Of cos God is in control, which makes our problems kinda smaller! Because anything in God's hands can never go wrong! :P
