After all those were ticked off, I was surprised I still had some energy left in me so Min and I headed for midnight tea - scrumptious coffee and cake at Fast Eddys, prob the only place opened at that time. All energetic after all the sugar, that's when the adventure started.
We drove down to City Beach to drool and admire at the big huge mansion-like houses there beside the sea. Since its beside the sea, we ended up at one of the parking lots overseeing City Beach. With the soft glows of the lamp which lit up the jetty, we could watch the waves flow onto the sandy beach right from where we were. There was a car already parked beside us, and to our surprise there were human beings in it, couple paktoing I assume. Well, it was 1 in the morning and hope we din spoil to much of their alone moments :)
Moving on, we dropped by Cottesloe beach, a famous spot for shooting scenery shots. Google search it and u'll understand why :) Thing was, I have never seen all these places at night before. We bumped into another overseeing-the-beach parking lots and the view was 100 times better than the previous one that we decided to step out of the car to have a look for ourselves. It was after all soo late in the night and no cars were in sight as far as our eyes take us. Paranoid as I am, I parked the car in such a way that we can zoom off anytime. JUST IN CASE. Well, thing is, the JUST IN CASE happened.
As Min was searching for my camera to capture the view, a white ute (hilux, truck like car) went pass the main street. Well, cars + main streets are usual but when it signaled to enter the car park, thats when I started to worry. Shouted at Min, and we hopped into the car and locked the doors. Dat car stopped right behind my car, and if they were there to enjoy the scenery, the could park anywhere else on the big parking lot.
Maybe it was a kind soul that thought we needed help, who knows.
What I know was we zoomed off, and unsatisfied with the glimpse of amazing scenery I saw, I had a brilliant plan off turning off into some random streets so if by any chance if the ute was following us, we'll loose them and we can get back to having some peace when we watched the ocean waves come in. Brilliant plan it was, till I realized the road I turned into was a no through road. N it was a super squeezy road cos of all the cars parked along it. That road was shaped like an upside down U with only one way in out. While driving back doing a round, Min pointed out at something at the end of the road. " Is that a person or is that something there?"
Couldn't see it at first but finally the figure became clearer as we got closer. The guy seemed like he was drunk and 'bobbing' around. Being truly Msian and even more paranoid, "Not good" was all thats stuck in my head. All he had to do was stand in the middle of the road and I woudn't be able to get out or swerve anywhere.
Good thing was, it turned out to be a guy hugging a girl and probably just having an intimate time together I guess. More than relieved to leave them alone, we drove back to where we were. Stepped out, breathed in some sea breeze and lo and behold a WHITE ute had to pass by the main road again (pretty sure its the same one).
Paranoid for the third time, we decided maybe its time to head home. No more fooling around. Driving out the car park, something wheezed by and thinking it was a neighbourhood cat, I stopped only to see a rabbit hop its way across the junction. Super cute lah :) There the couple was in sight again. Girl was on the floor and guy was standing around. Dunno whether they were drunk and God knows what happened next but we had enough adventure for the night.
Chatted our way throughout and now I knw nice pakto places to go in Perth and that maybe, JUST maybe, we shud head for such adventures in a grp with guys next time so we dun need to run and rush off :)
Signin off: Day well spent, looking forward to tomolo :)
